we are in coco bandero cays in san blas. the weather is a bit rainy and grey and we are hoping for a change........
this morning we have left cartagena with 17 souls on board from belgium, england, argentina, australia, brasil, spain, austria and germany. weather is very calm and we are< motoring towards san blas.
wednesday the 12th august we arrived to cartagena az 4:30pm. aftre sapzurro we had a
nice sailing night and arrived to isla fuerte in the noontime of tuesday and spent the
whole afternoon there with swimming and eating.....we had to motor all the rest of way
and did a last stop in playa blanca before entering the bay of cartagena. all in all our
long tour was very exciting and we have seen a lot of new fabolous places. now we are
only the crew left on board and we have started to do all the repairs and maintenance
works we allways have to do after a tour like this. on wednesday next week we start to
san blas again and there are spots available!!!
its monday 10th august and we have left the bay of sapzurro in colombia under full
sails with course to isla fuerte. we just caught a huge baracuda wich we will prepare
tomorrow for lunch and dinner. the sea is calm and roli, patricia and marcus are
cooking a austrian speciality called "ragout kompli".......
today sunday we arrived to sapzurro, the firts little harbour in colombia after
the panamenian border. the tour down along the san blas coast was great and we
discovered so many beautifull landscapes, islands etc...etc....
its all very different to the western san blas, not so many snorkeling spots and
not tghese little "polynesia-style" islands, but fabolous jungle pasages in
shallow waters and plenty lonesome anchorages. almost no other boats.
our last stop before here in sapzurro was "new edinburgh" with foert andrew, the
place where the scottish tryed to fond their first (and only) independent colony
in 1698. what a place....must be scary there by night in this jungle if you think
in the about 1500 scttish digged in this earth after they have died by tropical
fevers. there is no leftopvers of the old village new edinburgh to find because
the nature has taken back all human things and jungle has grown over in the
centuries.
03.08. after a week in paradise we came back to the reality
we were waiting for the next tour to cartagena and we were praparing the boat.
today we had a birthdayparty ,alba got 13 ,and this was a tour to the
jungle up to a waterfall ,a very cold bath and down the river back to the
beach.very beautiful
04.08 we had a wonderful sail in the morning and
anchoring in front of carti 9 degrees 28 minutes N 78 degrees 57 minutes W
we have new guests on board with a motorbike with sidecar a ural from
russia. she (stahlratte) is prepared for the journey. we fixed the sails
and we are hoping for good wind, and a good trip.
05.08 with ten guests leaving carti and we are now anchoring in coco bandera
7 degrees 30 minutes N 78 degrees 37 minutes W swiming and jumping just bevor
