" Logbook - Stahlratte "

this morning 10:30 we dropped anchor in front of santa catalina in providencia island in colombia. the sailing was a bit rough and we had a little dammage with our bowsprit wich we have to repair here in providencia. we will send some pictures to put into facebook tomorrow!

40nm southeast of guanaja sailing to providencia
we had to say good bye to roatan and set sails yesterday night and no we are sailing along the honduras coast with 20 knots north to east winds. it is rainy and cold and we calculate to arrive to providencia/colombia friday 19th afternoon. roatan is a beautifull island, actually the nicest of the bay islands, and we did several tours around with scooters.

coxens hole/ ROATAN/HONDURAS
we arrived to coxens hole in roatan today morning and have some trouble here now
because the authorities want us to take a shipsagent but we dont want and need
one. but we have our passports stamped and so we are allready legal in the country
only the ship isnt ready cleared in yet.....

placencia/ BELIZE
we spent 2 beatifukk days in front of ranguana cay with snorkeling and relaxing
and then motored back to placencia yesterday because here 4 people will leave te
ship to fly home and today after doing some shopping we start our journey to
roatan in honduras.

ranguana cay/ BELIZE
after one day and a night in placencia we left under sails and went 16miles southeast to
ranguana cay wich is a nice little palmtree covered islet. here we will be staying untill

placencia / BELIZE
yesterday evening just after our jerk chicken dinner the winds picked up and became
quite strong so we had to leave our nice anchorage at moho cay because we allready
started to drag and there was no other safe place to drop anchor close....so we decided
to do a nightshift and sail over to placencia where we arrived at 2am....and so now here
we are now

since 2 days we are in moho cay ( a couple of miles southeast from wippari cay). this
is an abandoned islet with geatifull corralreefs and there were even palmtrees on that
spot if not a hurricane had blown their leaves away. everything is nice here except
all the bugs on the beach...thats the hell!!!!
plenty of fish...great snorkeling
tomorrow morning we move to placentia to pick up two crewmembers and for shopping.

yesterday we sailed with light northerly winds down from dangriga to wippari cay (close to placencia) because in all the different guides we have for belize this cay is described as a little paradise....unfortunately it does not reallylook like that....more like a paradise for mosquitos (these people havent seen san blas). but anyway we had a great arriving here in front of wippari with a big rainbow in the background and sourrounded by plenty dolfins. today we check out if the reefs around are really good for "great snorkeling" as one of the guide book sais. otherwise we will throw all guidebooks over board) we had a superb dinner yesterday night with lamb and goat legs.....yammiyammi!!!!
