sailing to SAN BLAS...next sailing to CARTAGENA10th SEP (10 days tour via sapzurro)

we left cartagena yesterday 10am with 21 souls on board plus 4 motorcycles. we did a lot of grinding and painting in cartagena and some woodwork. we had a strong east setting current tonight so we are a couple of hours behind schedule and now running full speed motor and full sails with 8.5 knots towards coco bandero to reach there at about 4.30pm and then beach BBQ...the weather is absolutely great!

on anchor in Cartagena...next sailing to san blas 24.august

yesterday 4:30pm we arrived to the bay of cartagena and luckily could make the immigration very quick as we had people on board that had to catch a flight to bogota at 6pm....so here we are now in the rainy cartagena...ship is clean again and we are organizing for our one week maintenance works here on board.

on the way to Cartagena...next sailing to san blas 24.august

after 3 hours of sailing we met a drifting sailingvessel "one world" a 20nm offshore wich had a broken propellershaft and as there was no wind "not under command"...we towed them back to san blas tiquantiqui islands and now we are back on route to cartagena.....

we jsut lifted up anchor in coco bandero and we are now motoring through a gig rain and thunderstorm cloud system...impressive and beautifull (no danger;)) whil the breakfast is going to be prepared in the galley...sea is smouth and easy....some of the "sailors" are a bit sick after an extensive party last night:) when hangover converts in seasickness..thats really bad!tomorrow morning will be in cartagena again

In Coco Bandero on the way to Cartagena...

We just had a great BBQ on the beach (again;). We will stay here in Coco Bandero all day tomorrow and leave the day after that to Cartagena. We are 26 people and have only one motorbike on board this time. The next tour from Cartagena to San Blas will start on the 24th of August.

in san blas..... next sailing 10th aug CARTI/SAN BLAS toCARTAGENA/COLOMBIA

WE HAD SOME DIFFICULTIES TO UPDATE OUR LOGBOOK FOR THE LAST 2 WEEKS AS OUR SATPHONE ANTENNA WAS HIT BY LIGHTENING AND SO WE COULD NOT HAVE EMAIL EXCHANGE FOR A WHILE..... now we got a spare antenna and everything is working again ....the same morning when the lightening happened we were in puerto escoses (scotish harbour) in the darien and when we left that place a strong coldfront passed over us and the strong wind broke one of our solarpanels off and it flew away...another thing we had to replace!
since then we are in the western san blas islands doing some maintenance works and enjoy the great nature here with snorkeling and swimming and tanning..he he he;) looks like we will have a full ship for our next tour beginning on friday ...saludos desde la isla elefante/guna yala
